Hey there, Fan Club family! If you’ve been hanging around here for a while, you know we live and breathe pop culture. But there is one franchise that always seems to spark a special kind of energy in the room: Power Rangers.
It’s officially April 20, 2026, and if you haven’t been keeping up with the Morphin Grid lately, you are missing out on some of the biggest shifts in the franchise’s thirty-year history. We aren't just talking about a new toy line or a guest appearance; we are talking about a total ground-up reimagining of how we see our favorite colorful heroes.
From major streaming moves to a brand-new comic book era that is about to blow your mind, here are the 10 things you absolutely need to know about the future of Power Rangers.
1. The Disney+ Reboot is Officially in Motion
For a long time, the future of the live-action series felt a bit up in the air. After the success of Cosmic Fury on Netflix, fans weren't sure where the Rangers would land next. Well, the cat is out of the bag: Power Rangers is heading to Disney+.
This isn't just a simple "move" from one app to another. This is a full-scale reboot. Hasbro Entertainment is producing a brand-new series that aims to take the franchise in a slightly more prestige direction while keeping that heart and action we love. It’s a huge deal because Disney+ has already shown they know how to handle massive "hero" franchises like Marvel and Star Wars. Giving Power Rangers that same level of platform is a game-changer.
2. The Creative Minds Behind 'Percy Jackson' Are Leading the Charge
One of the biggest reasons to get excited about the Disney+ reboot is the team behind it. Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, the duo who recently brought Percy Jackson and the Olympians to life, are the showrunners.
If you saw what they did with Percy Jackson, you know they are experts at taking beloved childhood stories and making them feel grounded, modern, and respectful to the original source material. They have a knack for world-building and character development, which is exactly what Power Rangers needs right now. We are moving away from the "monster of the week" fluff and heading toward something with a bit more narrative weight.

3. We Have a New Red Ranger: And She’s a Powerhouse
Casting news is always the most anticipated part of a new season, and the lead for the reboot is already making waves. Multiple reports have confirmed that Peyton Elizabeth Lee is set to lead the team as the Red Ranger.
You might know her from Andi Mack or Doogie Kamealoha, M.D., but seeing her step into the leadership role of the Red Ranger is a massive win for the franchise. This marks only the third time in history we’ve had a female Red Ranger (following Lauren Shiba in Samurai and Amelia Jones in Cosmic Fury). Lee has the acting chops and the charisma to carry the brand into this new era, and we can’t wait to see her "suit up."
4. The Rest of the Core Cast is Taking Shape
While the Red Ranger is the anchor, the rest of the team is just as important. While Disney hasn't "officially" put out the press release yet, the industry buzz is loud. Joel Oulette is heavily rumored to be playing the Blue Ranger, and Momona Tamada is reportedly stepped in as the Pink Ranger.
If these names hold true, Hasbro is clearly looking for young, talented actors with established fanbases. However, there’s still a bit of a mystery remaining: the Black and Yellow Ranger roles are still being finalized. Finding that perfect five-person chemistry is hard, but if the first three are any indication, we are in for a very talented squad.
5. BOOM! Studios is Launching 'Power Rangers Unlimited'
While the TV news is huge, the comic book world is where the deepest lore is happening right now. On June 1, 2026, BOOM! Studios is launching a brand-new three-tiered comic line starting with Power Rangers Unlimited #1.
The comics have been the "secret weapon" of the franchise for years, offering stories that are a bit more mature and expansive than what we see on screen. This new line is designed to be an entry point for new readers while rewarding long-time fans who have been following the Shattered Grid and beyond.

6. Meet the "Striking Tiger" Unlimited Ranger
In the upcoming Power Rangers Unlimited series, we are getting something we’ve never seen before: The Striking Tiger Unlimited Ranger. This is an entirely original character designed specifically for the comics.
The Striking Tiger Ranger isn't just a solo act; this character is going to lead a "multiverse" team of legendary Rangers. The design work we've seen so far is sleek, modern, and a bit more "warrior-like" than the classic spandex suits. This character is expected to be a major pillar of the franchise's lore moving forward, potentially crossing over into other media if the fans embrace them.
7. An All-Star "Legacy" Team is Coming Together
Speaking of that multiverse team, the roster for the upcoming Unlimited series is basically a dream come true for nostalgic fans. Instead of a team from just one era, we are getting a mashup. The team includes:
- Aurico (Red Ranger, Alien Rangers)
- Tanya (Yellow Ranger, Zeo)
- Damon Henderson (Green Ranger, Lost Galaxy)
- Danny Delgado (Black Ranger, Wild Force)
- Tori Hanson (Blue Wind Ranger, Ninja Storm)
- Xander Bly (Green Ranger, Mystic Force)
- Gia Moran (Yellow Ranger, Megaforce)
- Robert James / RJ (Wolf Ranger, Jungle Fury)
Seeing characters from Jungle Fury and Ninja Storm working alongside a Zeo Ranger is exactly the kind of fan service we love here at The Fan Club. It shows that Hasbro and BOOM! haven't forgotten the history that got us here.
8. A Separate Live-Action Film is Still in the Works
Don't get the TV show confused with the movie! While the Disney+ series is the immediate focus, Hasbro has confirmed that a separate live-action feature film is still in active development.
The goal here seems to be a "connected universe" strategy: similar to how Marvel has movies and shows that exist in the same world. While we don't have a release date or casting for the movie yet, the fact that it's still being developed shows how much Hasbro believes in the Power Rangers brand as a blockbuster contender.

9. Collectibles are Getting a "Premium" Reboot
If you're a collector, your shelf is about to get a lot more crowded. With the launch of the new Disney+ series and the Unlimited comics, Hasbro is reportedly pivoting their toy strategy. While the "Lightning Collection" has been a staple, expect to see new "Collector Grade" figures that specifically highlight the new reboot designs and the Unlimited comic characters.
We are also hearing whispers about high-end prop replicas for the new Striking Tiger morpher. If you thought your wallet was safe in 2026, I have some bad news for you!
10. The Release Timeline Starts Now
We don't have to wait years for the next chapter. The "Summer of Rangers" kicks off on June 1, 2026, with the release of the new comics. From there, we expect the Disney+ series to start heavy promotion in late 2026, with a likely premiere date in early 2027.
This means that right now is the "quiet before the storm." It’s the perfect time to catch up on old seasons, read the back-issues of the comics, and get your theories ready.

What Are You Most Excited For?
Power Rangers is definitely having a "moment." Whether you are a fan of the classic Mighty Morphin era or you grew up with the Disney-era seasons like Dino Thunder, there is something for everyone in this new lineup.
Personally, I’m most excited to see Peyton Elizabeth Lee take the lead. It’s a fresh start for a franchise that has always been about teamwork and diversity, and it feels like we are finally getting the high-budget treatment the series deserves.
Stay tuned to The Fan Club for more updates as they drop. We’ll be keeping a close eye on those last two casting slots for the Disney+ series and giving you a full review of Power Rangers Unlimited #1 when it hits shelves in June.
Until next time( May the Power protect you!)
